The World According to HomieRap

In a knowledge saturated world, wisdom is in short supply. We know so much and yet so little. We need wisdom. Ask and it shall be given.

Looking up

For obvious reasons, the kitties are always looking up. Wonder what do they see when you are looking up. Looking around, I realized that we humans don't look up very much. In fact, many people spend their entire lives looking down. Down on the ground or down at their navel. The world sure looks a lot smaller and boring that way. Or worse, depressing and hopeless, especially when all you see are little creepy crawlies struggling to avoid the heavy steps of humans. A fitting analogy for some of us?

Perhaps, once we realize that we are not the biggest thing around, we will start looking up. And when that happens, who knows what the world will look like from that perspective.

Sleepzzz....

According to a poll conducted in 2004 by the National Sleep Foundation (NSF), revealed that at least 63% of Americans do not get the recommended eight hours of sleep every night!

A study conducted by the British Medical Association, showed that about 16 to 60 percentage of road accidents involve sleep deprivation. Not to mention a whole host of other problems ranging from weakened immune systems to asthma & diabetes to memory loss.

The brilliant feline community didn't need all these brainy research and poll to know that sleep is important. Very, very important, considering that cats sleep about 16 hours a day! Sure, they might not get to do much the rest of their waking hours, I reckon that there are much less road accidents to attend to too.

Simply simple

I suspect that the kitties are laughing at us mankind. When they peer at us in their quizzard looks, I know for sure they are wondering what on earth we are doing sometimes. Life can be so simple, so honest, so clear. But with our 'superior' intellect, we over-think, over-analyze, over-worry, over-talk. We pride ourselves for being lords over the animal kingdom, over the 'poor, helpless' kitties but don't we all have something to learn from them? In their 'helpless' states, they find simple pleasures - waiting eagerly for that weekend wet food day, avoiding those unpleasant baths by hiding behind the TV or nestled in their favourite corner taking a snooze. Are we as a human race incapable of accepting simple truths in our lives? Are we too full of ourselves to give up the visage of control that we conjure up daily?

I think many of us are simply chasing our own tails. And we laugh at the kitties when they do that! I wondering how often they have stared at us whilst we are sleeping, chuckling to themselves about us 'helpless and lost' mankind.

Fooled

We humans think we are so smart but i think the kitties have gotten life all figured out - Take things easy because God will provide. Don't worry about tomorrow as there are enough troubles for today already. We believe that we are doing them a favour by caring for them, giving them shelter when we are the ones benefitting from their wisdom, from their patience, waiting for us to slowly wise up. Truly the 'wise' ones will be educated by the 'weak and foolish' ones.
